About Rachel Shines

A story of dedication, family, and the pursuit of excellence.

Rachel Shines

The Journey Began Early

Rachel started gymnastics before she was even one year old. Growing up in Florida, she was introduced to the sport by her father Frank, who himself trained alongside Olympic athletes at the United States Air Force Academy. That athletic DNA and early exposure ignited a passion that has only grown stronger.

Training at LaFleur's Gymnastics in Florida, Rachel has risen through the levels to become a Level 10 gymnast — the highest level in the Junior Olympic program. She trains 6 days a week, 5 hours a day, balancing intense athletic commitment with academic excellence as a National Honor Roll student.

Known affectionately as "Lil' $waggy," Rachel brings a unique blend of power, grace, and personality to every routine.

NCAA D1 Dreams

Rachel aspires to compete at the highest collegiate level. Her dream schools include the University of Florida Gators, UCLA, and the University of Oklahoma — all powerhouse NCAA Division I gymnastics programs. With her scores, work ethic, and competitive fire, she's well on her way.

Beyond the Gym

When she's not training, Rachel enjoys making TikTok videos, playing basketball, dancing, singing, and traveling. She brings the same energy and passion to everything she does.

Family

Rachel's biggest supporters are her family: mom Michelle, dad Frank (her first coach and a former gymnast himself), her beloved grandfather ("Papa"), and the family dog Ace. Their love, sacrifices, and unwavering support fuel Rachel's journey every single day.
